Meeting in person allows families to ask questions, share stories, and make decisions with guidance and care. At Sage Funeral Home, every arrangement takes place in a comfortable, private setting where you can talk openly about your wishes and what feels right for your family. Your funeral director will walk you through each step, from completing the necessary paperwork to choosing the services and products that best reflect your needs.
Our In-Person Arrangement Process
First Contact
When a death occurs, contact Sage Funeral Home by phone to notify us and authorize the transfer of your loved one into our care.

Vital Statistics
Before your appointment, the funeral director will send a link to complete a Vital Statistics form online. While not mandatory, completing this form helps us prepare the necessary documents and ensures your arrangement meeting flows smoothly.

Identification & Ongoing Communication
Identification of your loved one can take place at the end of the meeting or be scheduled for another time that works best for you. After the arrangements are complete, your funeral director will continue to communicate with you by phone, email, or text—whichever you prefer, as details progress. Copies of the Funeral Director Attestation of Death will be provided to the authorized decision-maker once the contract for services have been signed.

Confirmation & Instructions
Once your loved one has arrived safely at Sage, a funeral director will contact you to review their wishes and go over the in person arrangement process.
The Arrangement Meeting
During your in-person meeting, your funeral director will confirm the Vital Statistic information, help you write or review an obituary, guide you in selecting merchandise, review and sign the service contract and other legal documents, as well as assist in planning any service or gathering details you wish to include. Typically funeral arrangements take 1.5-2.5 hours.
Return Home
Following cremation, your funeral director will maintain communication with you. Once we have your loved one in our care from the crematorium, we will arrange for a safe return to you.
