Dearest Katherine, I am so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. My heart and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. There aren’t words to express really what you feel, but please know I send you hugs, love and support, to you and to all of the family. I remember fondly the times when you'd be at work (Wascana Remedial), and speaking about how you couldn't wait to be at home with Sandy, crawling in to the tub, relaxing and enjoying time with the love of your life. Please take care and be gentle with yourself, and remember his loving presence is always with you. Lots of Love Beautiful Lady.

For many years, Ven was part of my extended family. Like a brother from another mother, he was a welcome guest at birthdays and other holiday celebrations, and at the family cottage. Ven and my mother, Pat Krause, shared a love for a good story. There was never a shortage of literary issues to discuss when those two got going. My time as a graduate student in creative writing at Warren Wilson overlapped with Ven’s, with Ven completing his degree a year after I finished mine. We shared many friends in that vibrant community. Our friendship continued for some years following but then, as sometimes happens, we went in different directions. Life events, large and small, intervened. I played no role in Ven’s life in his later years. Happily, he had built a nurturing community to provide him with the care and support he needed. Ven had an outsized literary imagination, grit and determination, a keen interest in helping others develop their writing skills, and a fondness for dark chocolate. He will be missed by many for a long time.

This purple candle is lit in loving memory of my beautiful wife, Harjeet Kaur Rai. The color purple symbolizes love, dignity, peace, and everlasting remembrance. As its gentle flame burns, it reflects the light, kindness, strength, and unconditional love that Harjeet shared with everyone whose life she touched. Though you are no longer by our side, your love will forever remain in our hearts. Although my time with Donavon was relatively short in comparison to many others, it was a great honor to know him. We worked together at Sask Power in Weyburn. Donavon was always upbeat, caring of others, generous, humorous and a joy to be around. Everyone who knew him and had the priviledge of working with him respected him. When I was recovering in hospital from back surgery, Donavon came to visit me which lifted my spirits. He was intelligent and quick-witted. Our coffee-time conversations covered a vast array of topics and Donavon always contributed wisely. Thanks to Dianna, we have kept in touch over the many years since that time. Thank you, Dianna. To know Donavon was a great honor. He'll be missed by many, but will always be fondly remembered.

We loved visiting with Donavan in Kelowna and Kal lake. He found me on the ski hill at sovereign lake in 2021 - after not seeing each other in quite a few years. That day was so much fun and we skied many times on the trails after that and it was so great to reconnect. He and Rory became buddies and got together for ā€œman datesā€ of skiing and lunching . Donavan and I swam masters in Saskatoon together - he was fast, and always so positive . Talented in so many ways! We have had many fun get togethers including the famous ā€œNelson gamesā€. So many happy memories with him and the family. We will miss you. Thank you for adding sparkle to our lives !

ā€œMany people will walk in and out of our life, but only the people we truly love, leave footprints in our hearts.ā€ Reading Brandon’s Obituary and seeing his picture, right away brought me back to memories of his younger years. He still has that infectious smile. I am not surprised he is kind hearted and a gentle soul. This is a wonderful tribute to you…Fred, Donna and Shawn for being a guiding light in his life. Thank you for calling me at such a vulnerable time in your life. It’s hard to imagine someone so young leaving us too soon. The depth of sadness you have been going through to lose a son and brother is so unexpected and heartbreaking. I, together with my family send our deepest condolences to each of you and extended family and his friends. I read: ā€œWe know grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. It is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith, it is the price of loveā£ļø Brandon will be missed. We all have fond memories of Brandon of time spent with him. He will live on in our hearts and in those memories that you share at his Celebration of Life. May those memories bring smiles to your faces, as you recall those footprints etched in our hearts. May God’s Blessings be with you during this tough time, while you are filled with heartache. May Brandon rest in peace. Unfortunately, due to your Uncle Dave’s recent passing, I am unable to be there with you to provide support and share my love. I am however, thinking of everyone and pray that God will be of comfort to each and every one of you during this difficult time. I pray this: ā€œSometimes, it feels like you’re lost in the dark. But then, something happens. Your eyes adjust. You start to notice specks of light you didn’t know existed. You see beauty tucked away in the shadows. So, hang on and keep hope. Better days are coming.ā€ This was sent to me by Denise and written by N Hoffman. We are sending our love, Aunt Gena and family. Denise, Bill, Jack(Abby) and Charlie

I am forever grateful that our lives were blessed with Donavon. For over 40 years, he wasn't just a brother-in-law, but rather Donavon was like an older brother in so many ways. I will always carry with me the countless conversations, the laughs and unforgettable good times together. His insatiable zest for life has left an indelible mark on all of us. Something I always appreciate about Donavon is how curious he is and how he always took a personal interest in the person in front of him and how he asks such good questions. What I am very thankful for, is how Donavon would engage our kids with that same level of curiosity, typically while sitting on the dock or the boat at the cabin. This meant the world to us. Cheers to a man who lit up the world for so many of us. We will carry the memories and your spirit wherever we go!
