Chaly Sam

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Chaly Chim, of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, on July 14, 2026.

Born in Cambodia, Chaly moved to Canada in 1980.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelina; Ara Chim; his son, Sangva (Chakrya) of New Mexico, USA; his daughter, Sacha of Florida, USA; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Whether you knew him as Bong, Dad, Uncle Chaly, Lolo, or simply Chaly, he will be dearly missed.

Chaly worked as a truck driver before retiring and doing tax accounting. He loved going to the casino and trying different Asian restaurants throughout the city. He was well known by many of the restaurant staff, as he would always ask for all the spices and enjoy a liquor after each meal.

He also had a love for plants. Chaly lived his life to the fullest, always doing things his own way.
