It is with deep love and profound sadness, the family of Concetta "Tina" Duncan announces her peaceful passing on Friday, July 31, 2026, with her beloved daughter, Tessa, by her side.
Tina was born in Civitanova, Italy, on December 28, 1948. In 1955, she immigrated to Canada with her mother and siblings to join their father, beginning a new life rooted in family, resilience, and love.
Tina possessed a gentle spirit and a remarkable gift for making others feel seen and accepted. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone she had just met, she listened with her whole heart. She never needed to be the loudest voice in the room. Instead, she offered kindness, understanding, and a quiet reassurance that made people feel safe. Many left a simple coffee visit with Tina feeling lighter than when they arrived.
The greatest joy of Tina's life was being a mother. She loved her daughters fiercely, and her devotion never wavered. As the mother of Kyla, who had special needs, Tina came to understand that love is often expressed through patience, gentleness, and steadfast presence. Following Kyla's passing, the compassion she had cultivated throughout her daughter's life became one of her greatest gifts to others. She dedicated many of her working years to caring for children, including those with special needs, offering families the same empathy, tenderness, and understanding that defined her own life.
To her daughter, Tessa, Tina was a safe place, a mom she could tell anything, knowing she would always be met with unconditional love, acceptance, and gentle wisdom. She was also a cherished sister whose quiet encouragement, thoughtful advice, and unwavering support strengthened the bonds of her family throughout the years.
Outside of caring for others, Tina found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending her garden, sharing long conversations over coffee or spending time with family and friends,
Tina was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kyla; her parents, Giovanni and Mariannina Fiorante; and her brothers-in-law, Edmondo and Ward.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Tessa; Rick, the father of her children; her siblings, Maria, Josepha (Ken), Joe, Esterina (Ewen), Andy (Adrie), Reno (Karen), Gina (Norm), and Lisa; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.
In keeping with Tina's generous and compassionate spirit, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Breast Cancer Canada, 101-415 Exmouth Street, Sarnia, ON N7T 8A4, or H.E.L.P. Homes of Regina, 1856 Angus Street, Regina, SK S4T 1Z4.
