It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dean Vincent Kuz, who left us on October 25, 2024, at the age of 56. Dean lovingly devoted his time, energy, and life to taking care of his beloved families.
Born on January 28, 1968, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Dean developed a deep passion for sports, especially football, which became a cornerstone of his life. While attending university, he played as a placekicker for the Regina Rams. Throughout his teaching career, Dean dedicated himself to coaching the Miller Marauders football team, inspiring countless young athletes, and leading his teams to numerous city and provincial championship titles. His enduring legacy is reflected in the lives he touched and his passion for the game.
In addition to his contributions on the field, Dean taught Physical Education and then Carpentry for 27 years at Miller Highschool. Dean loved teaching and mentoring youth and making his colleagues laugh. He was a talented carpenter known for his craftsmanship and creativity. He loved taking on new projects, building his own home and often helping friends and family with their endeavors. Dean found joy in the great outdoors and would never shy away from any opportunity to pick up his guitar and belt out a tune.
Dean is survived by his children, Kelsey (Corey), Eric and Carlie (Rock), devoted partner Darla Keen (Payton & Quinn Ellsworth and children Turner, Lena & Lawson; Dallen Keen & Lynzey), brother Terry Kuz (Laura), sister Deb Schmidt (Perry), sister Kelly Sheard (George), brother Glenn Kuz, many nieces and nephews, friends and his Miller Marauders Football Teams.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Lorris and Steve Kuz.
Dean’s loved ones will gather to honour his life with a funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, October 30th, at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Rd, Regina, at 4:30 PM.
Family and friends are invited to come celebrate Dean’s remarkable life and the profound impacts he had on so many. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate and honour Dean's life will be held at Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish at 3155 Windsor Park Road on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at 4:30 pm. Reception to follow to share some time and memories with Dean's family. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed.
A private interment will happen at a later date.
