It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fredrick “Fred” Erickson on June 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Linda; his sons, Ricky (Caitlin) and Shelton (Alyssa); his grandsons, Tailor and Tanner; and his granddaughters, Ella and Oaklie.

Fred will be remembered for his generosity, selflessness, and unwavering work ethic. He would do absolutely anything for his family, and he took great pride in providing for them. Fred always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He dedicated 36 years of service as a Commissionaire at the Regina Police Service. Along the way, you may also have seen him pumping gas with a warm smile at the Co-op Gas Bar or delivering a hot, fresh pizza right to your doorstep. His years of delivering for both the Commissionaires and local pizza restaurants earned him the proud nickname “Fast Freddie,” a name that stayed with him until the very end.

Fred’s greatest devotion in life was providing for his family, and that is exactly what he did. If you were to ask Fred what his greatest accomplishment was, he would tell you it was becoming “Poppa.” In his later years, being Poppa was his greatest joy. He cherished his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and the staff at Regina Grace Hospice. The compassion, dignity, and exceptional care Fred received during this difficult time left a lasting impression on the family, for which they will be forever grateful.
