Harvey Dale Giesbrecht

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of Harvey’s passing.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sonja, of 38 years, daughter Sorena (Kenny) Blaney, grandchildren, Jace and Bowmen, son Easton (Dani Large). Siblings; Deanna (Barry) Toews, Jack Simmonds, Donna (Abe) Funk, Randy (Carrie) Giesbrecht, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by; parents, Isaac and Helena Giesbrecht, Garry and Heather Giesbrecht, Judy Simmonds, Wanda and Eric Oliver. Nephews; Lonny Giesbrecht, Jason Funk, Robbie Deering and great-niece Elan Burgess.

Harvey was born in Swift Current, SK. He grew up on the family farm at Wymark, SK. Harvey married Sonja Westergaard on June 25, 1988. Growing up on the farm, Harvey’s curiosity always had him building, fixing or tearing apart anything mechanical.  This led to him fixing and tuning race cars, his own and for others.

Appliance repair became his business, and he was the family consultant. Invites for repairs were enticed with offers of buns, soup or jam.

Curiosity in how to make things work better helped develop his love of archery and his dedication to coaching others.

He enjoyed family time, especially the annual reunion, camping in Cypress Hills.

Harvey was a social person and will be missed by many.

Memorial Service will be held, Saturday Sept 26, 2026, at 1:00.

Parliament Community Church, 4011 Pasqua St, Regina, SK

In honor of Harvey, a BBQ will follow, hosted at the Regina Wildlife Federation, SE of Pilot Butte, Range Road 2182.
