June Gascoyne

It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of June Gascoyne (née Huntley), who passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24, 2026, after a long illness with cancer. She passed just as she had wished: peacefully, comfortably, and on her own terms.

June was born on December 11, 1946, in the United Kingdom, and emigrated to Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1980. She built a life marked by independence, quiet strength, and deep affection for the people she loved.

June was predeceased by her mother, Mary Bolen; her father, Alfred Huntley; and her son, Jonathan Gascoyne. She is survived by her brothers, Edward and David Huntley; her daughter, Helen Outerbridge; and her grandson, Michael Outerbridge.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to June’s doctors, and especially to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, for the care and compassion they provided. Their support helped keep June pain-free and living independently right until the end.

As per June’s request, there will be no formal service. Instead, the family will gather privately later this summer in one of her favourite places, Fort Qu’Appelle.

For those who knew and remember June, please know that she loved you all and spoke of you often.
