Kathleen Frances Young

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Frances "Fran" Young (nee, Parkin) on Sunday January 19, 2025, with family by her side.

She was predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Alfred Parkin and brother John. Fran is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Young; children Korin Young, Kelly Young and her children Kai and Saphira Slywka; Phil Parkin (Mindy Elderkin) and their children Alex, Brett, Jakob and Isla; sister in law Marcia Marckoski (Dave); brother-in-law Murray Young (Hillary), among many more friends and family.

Fran was born in Regina, SK in 1953. Her teenage years were spent at Lumsden Beach where she developed a love for beach life. She was often seen enjoying her paddle boat with her pup by her side. Fran enjoyed trips to various ski resorts in Canada when her children were young and then found a love for Arizona when they were grown. Fran and Bill loved traveling, having the opportunity to explore various southern destinations throughout the years.

Fran was a loving and devoted grandmother to each of her grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at Lumsden Beach in the summer of 2025.

The Tide Recedes

The tide recedes

but leaves behind

bright seashells on the sand.

The sun goes down,

but gentle warmth

still lingers on the land.

The music stops,

And yet it echoes on

in sweet refrains.

For every joy that passes,

something beautiful remains.
