Melodie Dawn Bradley (née Longman), known affectionately to many as Mel, passed away peacefully in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 27, 2025, surrounded by many loved ones and under the compassionate care of the incredible staff of the palliative ward at the Pasqua Hospital. She was 68 years old.
Born in Regina in 1957, Mel began a long and dedicated career with Cooperators Insurance, first in Regina and later in Edmonton, Alberta. It was there that she built lifelong friendships and met her soulmate, Glenn Bradley, with whom she shared a deep and loving partnership until his passing in January 2025.
In retirement, Mel and Glenn made their home in La Rivière, Manitoba, where they created happy memories together in their beloved riverside home. They also spent many winters in Arizona surrounded by family and friends, enjoying sunshine, laughter, and time together. Mel loved to laugh, and she and Glenn shared a playful spirit — often in a back-and-forth of pranks and practical jokes with friends. She thrived in her garden, welcomed family and friends for bonfires and happy hours, and embraced life’s joys- travelling, shopping excursions, and gathering loved ones close.
Mel was exceptionally creative and thoughtful. She poured her heart into crafting keepsakes, baking sweet treats for every occasion, and creating gifts that made others feel cherished. She was known for her selflessness, always putting others first and ensuring that everyone around her felt loved and cared for.
Even in the face of health challenges, Mel’s strength and courage shone brightly. She cared for Glenn and her mother with unwavering devotion and, after Glenn’s passing, bravely navigated life’s changes with resilience, grace, and determination.
Mel is lovingly remembered by her stepdaughters Danyn Dunlop (Dave), Shannon Price, and Ashley Cleaver (Chris); her mother Eileen Francis; her brother Greg Longman (Sheila); her sister-in-law Diana Fraser (Marcel); her brother-in-law Lorne Bradley; and by her nieces and nephews: Danielle Clement (Norm), Kraig Bradley (Melissa), Dan Fraser (Connie), Kristel Kernaghan (Darcy), and Renee Manz (Rob). She is also remembered by many great-nieces and nephews and beloved honorary grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father Harold Longman, her stepfather Dave Francis, and her husband Glenn Bradley.
A celebration of Mel’s life will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 2:00 pm at Sage Funeral Home in Regina. Interment alongside Glenn at New Haven Cemetery in Manitoba will also take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mel’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mel’s legacy of love, creativity, laughter, and courage will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
