It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Randall Scott McDonald on August 14, 2026, at the age of 60. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends who loved him deeply and will miss him dearly.
Randy was born on April 5, 1966, in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, and graduated from Canora Composite High School in 1984. He went on to receive his Parts Person Certificate from Kelsey SIAST and spent more than 20 years working as a parts person at SGI Salvage. In his early twenties, Randy proudly played football for the Saskatoon Hilltops, helping the team win the national championship in 1985 - a time he remembered with great pride.
Outside of work, Randy had a lifelong passion for many things, including watching the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Flyers and gym life.
Randy had a unique and unmistakable sense of humor and loved nothing more than making people laugh. He was a master at delivering a quick punchline, sharing a funny story, or finding comedy in the everyday moments of life. He was unapologetically himself, and his quick wit and genuine personality made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.
Randy was happiest when he was fishing or hunting. He especially loved spending weekends with his dad at Deschambault Lake, whether they were out looking for moose or waiting patiently for walleye. The time spent with his daughters and family always brought big smiles and so much love.
Randy is survived by his two beloved daughters, Alexandria and Ashleigh, who were an incredibly important part of his life. He is also survived by his former spouse, Shannon, who continued to love and support him throughout the years; his older brother, Bruce (Lisa); and his nephew, Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents, Jerry and Irene McDonald, of Kamsack, Saskatchewan.
Randy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
