It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rick Quiring announces his passing after an 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s. He rallied one last time to give the family he cherished deeply a chance to say their final farewells before growing his wings at 2:03 AM.
Rick was born in Carberry, Manitoba, the son of Agatha Weibe and Issac Quiring. He shared a very happy childhood with his brother Lionel that was filled with camping, many visits with his Grandma and Grandpa Quiring, and his cherished pet dogs. Rick was born into a large family with 11 aunts and uncles and numerous cousins for friends. Rick moved to Brandon, Manitoba after completing high school and met the love of his life Bryer. In 1975 he left for Regina, Saskatchewan in the pursuit of riches and began his 34 year career as a commercial truck driver. Bryer joined Rick in Regina and they welcomed twin boys Topher and Jaret, and Frazer three years later. Rick and Bryer enjoyed 53 years of marriage, he believed love was a byproduct of commitment. Rick was a devoted father who built a sandbox/playhouse for his children, sang in church, wrote annual Christmas letters, and drove the Sunday school bus. He had a passion for computers and technology and was referred to as “Dr. Q – P.C Medic”. In 2009 he retired from Winnipeg Motors as an owner/operator and devoted his time to his family. He lived many years with his son Frazer and watched his granddaughters Rhayne and Silver grow to adults. In his final years he returned to Regina to be cared for by his wife and son Topher. He enjoyed time with his family and pets, played cribbage, and filled the house with laughter and puns. Rick had a dry sense of wit and humour and was always ready with a quip.
A special thank you to all of the friends and family who supported Rick in his final years; the kindness, clever banter, and patience were better medicine than any doctor had to offer.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Agatha and Issac Quiring. He will be dearly missed and survived by his devoted wife Bryer Quiring, his children Jaret (Erin), Topher (Chantel) and Frazer (Marley). His grandchildren: Logan, Gavin, Evelyn, Rhayne, Silver, Micah, Ezra and Acacia. His brother Lionel (Janet) Quiring and nephews Alex and Drew.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2026 at 2:00PM, Sage Funeral Home, 329 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan
