It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Saroeuth Seang on June 7, 2026.
Saroeuth, also known as Mom or “Yay” grew up in Takoy Village, Battambang in Cambodia.
In 1984, she met Leang Uy at a Thai Refugee camp. Leang, Mom and soon-to-be baby, Yarath, moved to Canada in 1985.
Mom was an incredible wife, cook, caring mother and grandmother. One of the first things that comes to mind when thinking about Mom is her smile. It was radiant, sincere and welcoming. She adored flowers and could often be found gardening. She was the matriarch that held our family together.
More than anything, Mom loved her family. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. We value and cherish the time we spent with her.
Mom is predeceased by her father, Hung Sieng.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Roeung Dom; her siblings: brother Hak Sieng and his daughter, Visanny; sister Sary Sieng and her children, Teresa, Angela, Christopher, Nick and Jadon; sister Saran Sieng and her children, Sovannaroth, Annita and Bryant; sister Saream Sieng and her children, Daravuth and Rasmey and her youngest sister, Sarin Sieng.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her children: her eldest daughter, Yarath, and her children, Makaela and Kainan; her eldest son, Yarith, and his wife, Emma; her middle son, Yaran, and his wife, Angelina, and their children, Amelia and Kobe; and her youngest son, Bunreath, and his wife, Tobi, and their children, Mia and a soon-to-be born baby girl.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff for the exceptional care and attention given to Mom over the past few months at Unit 5A at Regina General Hospital, Unit 3 at Wascana Rehab, Unit 3B at Pasqua Hospital, and Wascana Grace Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m at New Apostolic Church, 3805 Green Falls Drive in Regina, Saskatchewan.
A potluck reception will follow the service. Please feel free to join us as we gather to celebrate Mom’s life. Those who would like to contribute are welcome to bring a food item to share.
