It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Spencer Taylor Jesse on May 10, 2026.

Spencer was born on September 6, 1993, in Calgary, Alberta, to Ron Jesse and Karen Bamford. He spent the majority of his childhood forming an unbreakable bond and brotherhood with Blake Litchfield, a friendship that lasted 30 of his 32 years.

As a young boy, Spencer was reserved and shy, always keeping his circle small and close to those he truly cared about. As he grew into adolescence, he became a force to be reckoned with — a young man who never sought the spotlight, yet somehow managed to have an entire room laughing and hanging on to what he would say or do next. For better or worse, Spencer never shied away from saying the quiet part out loud.

Spencer later moved to Kelowna, where he discovered a passion for aviation. A testament to his remarkable determination and ability to accomplish whatever he set his mind to, Spencer obtained his Commercial Pilot Licence before graduating high school with honours.   Not long after, he began working as a bush pilot in isolated rural areas across Canada.

Known for craving adventure and constantly seeking to learn new things, Spencer embarked on a solo backpacking trip through South America. Upon returning home, he continued to educate himself by learning new skills and trades.

Spencer eventually returned to Kelowna and began working as a glazier. His gift for learning quickly led him to pursue further education and dream of starting his own business.

This journey had brought Spencer to Regina, where he met his future wife, Cassan.

Spencer quickly made a lasting impression on her family, just as they did on him. He spoke often and proudly of Cassan’s family and the love he had for them. Spencer and Cassan were married at Clear Lake, Manitoba on October 13th, 2024, and one year later joyfully announced they were expecting their first child in June 2026.

Spencer was strong and determined, but battled with depression for much of his life. He and Cassan were looking forward to beginning the next chapter of their married life with new dreams and the arrival of their baby girl. Sadly, the dreams they shared were cut short by his tragic passing. The daughter he leaves behind will bear the name Allison, which he chose with Cassan, and the second name Spencer, in his memory.

Despite the devastating loss and the immense impact his passing has had on all who loved him, Spencer will forever be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to those around him, his unwavering loyalty to friends and family, and his unapologetically outspoken nature.

Those left to carry his memory forward are:

His loving wife, Cassan Geiler;

His parents, Karen Bamford and Ron Jesse;

His dear friend and brother, Blake Litchfield;

His extended Jesse and Bamford family and friends;

His in-laws, Wally & Debb Geiler, Wes Geiler (Allison Rogers), Max Geiler, and Jack Geiler;

His soon-to-arrive daughter, Allison Spencer.

~ Forever in our hearts, Fair winds and following seas, brother ~

A private funeral service was held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cathedral in Brandon, Manitoba on May 16th, 2026 with Bishop James Njegovan presiding. Cremation services were provided by Sage Funeral Home in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The family is grateful to Jan Porten for her compassionate support and to Bishop Jim for his unwavering lovingkindness.
