Ted Micheal Renkas, 91, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, with his wife Helen and children at his side.

Ted was born on August 8, 1934, in Ituna, Saskatchewan.  He was a loving husband to Helen for 64 years.  He was a proud parent of Cheryl (Murray), children Dylan (Tessa) and Shane (Sydney) ,grandchildren Averie and Summer, in Calgary; Blaine (Rebecca), children Amy (Tyler), grandchild Leland, and Scott (Janet) in Calgary; Tara (Gerard), children Hannah and Jonah in Calgary.

After graduating high school in Ituna, Ted moved to Regina and started working for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in 1954.  He worked for the Wheat Pool for 35 years, starting in the mail room and rising up through the ranks to Manager of the Computer department until his retirement.

Ted was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His warm and welcoming nature led to their home and cottage being a gathering place for family and friends. Ted loved to spend time out at the cottage, where he enjoyed catching more than his share of pickerel, tending to the garden, and sharing his bounty with friends and family. He truly enjoyed his beloved Riders, as a long-time season ticket holder, he rarely missed a game.  He also loved watching his Expos, then the Blue Jays, and curling with Helen. One thing that Ted loved to do was go dancing with Helen, and they often traveled to different parts of Saskatchewan for dances and polka parties.

Ted is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Katharine, and his brothers Patrick, Mervin, Russel, Alan, and Gordon, who he will gladly be seeing in heaven. Ted is also predeceased by many extended family members and close friends, too numerous to mention.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at Sage Funeral Home, 329 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK on July 27, 2026, at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pasqua Hospital through the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.  The Foundation - Hospitals of Regina Foundation
