Although my time with Donavon was relatively short in comparison to many others, it was a great honor to know him. We worked together at Sask Power in Weyburn. Donavon was always upbeat, caring of others, generous, humorous and a joy to be around. Everyone who knew him and had the priviledge of working with him respected him. When I was recovering in hospital from back surgery, Donavon came to visit me which lifted my spirits. He was intelligent and quick-witted. Our coffee-time conversations covered a vast array of topics and Donavon always contributed wisely. Thanks to Dianna, we have kept in touch over the many years since that time. Thank you, Dianna. To know Donavon was a great honor. He'll be missed by many, but will always be fondly remembered.

We loved visiting with Donavan in Kelowna and Kal lake. He found me on the ski hill at sovereign lake in 2021 - after not seeing each other in quite a few years. That day was so much fun and we skied many times on the trails after that and it was so great to reconnect. He and Rory became buddies and got together for “man dates” of skiing and lunching . Donavan and I swam masters in Saskatoon together - he was fast, and always so positive . Talented in so many ways!
We have had many fun get togethers including the famous “Nelson games”. So many happy memories with him and the family. We will miss you. Thank you for adding sparkle to our lives !

“Many people will walk in and out of our life, but only the people we truly love, leave footprints in our hearts.” Reading Brandon’s Obituary and seeing his picture, right away brought me back to memories of his younger years. He still has that infectious smile. I am not surprised he is kind hearted and a gentle soul. This is a wonderful tribute to you…Fred, Donna and Shawn for being a guiding light in his life. Thank you for calling me at such a vulnerable time in your life. It’s hard to imagine someone so young leaving us too soon. The depth of sadness you have been going through to lose a son and brother is so unexpected and heartbreaking. I, together with my family send our deepest condolences to each of you and extended family and his friends. I read: “We know grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. It is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith, it is the price of love❣️ Brandon will be missed. We all have fond memories of Brandon of time spent with him. He will live on in our hearts and in those memories that you share at his Celebration of Life. May those memories bring smiles to your faces, as you recall those footprints etched in our hearts. May God’s Blessings be with you during this tough time, while you are filled with heartache. May Brandon rest in peace. Unfortunately, due to your Uncle Dave’s recent passing, I am unable to be there with you to provide support and share my love. I am however, thinking of everyone and pray that God will be of comfort to each and every one of you during this difficult time. I pray this: “Sometimes, it feels like you’re lost in the dark. But then, something happens. Your eyes adjust. You start to notice specks of light you didn’t know existed. You see beauty tucked away in the shadows. So, hang on and keep hope. Better days are coming.” This was sent to me by Denise and written by N Hoffman. We are sending our love, Aunt Gena and family. Denise, Bill, Jack(Abby) and Charlie

I am forever grateful that our lives were blessed with Donavon. For over 40 years, he wasn't just a brother-in-law, but rather Donavon was like an older brother in so many ways. I will always carry with me the countless conversations, the laughs and unforgettable good times together. His insatiable zest for life has left an indelible mark on all of us. Something I always appreciate about Donavon is how curious he is and how he always took a personal interest in the person in front of him and how he asks such good questions. What I am very thankful for, is how Donavon would engage our kids with that same level of curiosity, typically while sitting on the dock or the boat at the cabin. This meant the world to us. Cheers to a man who lit up the world for so many of us. We will carry the memories and your spirit wherever we go!

To the wonderful, respectful, kindhearted, selfless and soft spoken brother-in-law of mine, Vjay like I do call you: you were never just in-law family to me, I see you more of my blood.
I will forever be grateful for the rare opportunity you gave me, if I could vividly remember, it was around early December 2020, you made see myself as someone who could have experience in Video Editing and with my passion for media and entertainment in which you gave me a pass into the company you were working for back then (Hiimpact Studios). You were not just a colleague but a great leader who inspired and empowered others while demonstrating high integrity, accountability and emotional intelligence.
Your unending love for my sister (Karymah) was something I admired. Words ain’t just enough to describe the kind of being you were. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you get angry not even for once, I will be like “shey Vjay dey vex at all sha?” Saying goodbye is kinda difficult because you had a heart of gold and a smile that could brighten up anyone’s mood. The memories we shared will forever live on. May Almighty Allah’s comfort and protection be with the wife and daughter you left behind.
Rest peacefully, knowing you will forever be in our hearts. Although you left us so soon, we love you but Almighty God love you the most. May you continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
And to Pastor Babatunde Adejumo, Mr Fuad, Oyinkansola and Oyindamola thank you all for your unwavering support to the Umokoro’s family during their difficult time. May Almighty Allah reward every one of you.

It is with a heavy heart and deep sense of loss that I write this tribute to my dear friend, colleague, and younger brother, Victor Umukoro, who sadly passed away on the 9th of June, 2026.
Victor and I worked together for many years in the television industry. He served as my Assistant Head of Editing, and throughout those years, he distinguished himself as a dedicated professional, a dependable team player, and an exceptional human being. Even after relocating to Canada, the bond we shared remained strong, transcending distance and time.
Victor was a gentle soul—humble, mature, and wise in his approach to life's challenges. He possessed a calm demeanor that made him easy to work with and easy to love. His respect for people, regardless of status or position, was one of his most admirable qualities.
One thing I will always remember is the way he addressed me. Whether at work or during our private conversations, he would always call me "Baba" or "Boss." Those simple words, spoken with affection and respect, reflected the warmth of our relationship. To me, Victor was never just a colleague; he was more like a younger brother.
The last time we spoke was on March 16th. As usual, our conversation revolved around our shared passion for media. We discussed church media operations, cameras, and the evolving world of television production. In the midst of our professional discussions, he joyfully spoke about his newborn baby. With his characteristic humor, he jokingly remarked that female children are wonderful. Looking back now, I cherish that conversation even more, never imagining it would be our last.
Victor's passing leaves a void that cannot easily be filled. His kindness, humility, professionalism, and cheerful spirit will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he has departed from this earthly life, the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the legacy he left behind will continue to inspire us.
To his family, especially his beloved wife, daughter, and loved ones, I pray that God grants you strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. May you find solace in the beautiful memories you shared with him and in the knowledge that he lived a life worthy of honor and remembrance.
Victor, my brother, my colleague, my friend—your voice calling me "Baba" and "Boss" will forever echo in my heart. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Farewell, Victor Umukoro.
Gone too soon, but forever remembered.May God comfort everyone who mourns his passing and grant him eternal rest. Amen.
